Ce texte, prononcé en introduction à une journée organisée en l'honneur d'André Calas, évoque sa personnalité et retrace les grandes étapes de sa carrière ainsi que l'évolution de ses recherches.
Abstract
This talk, given as an introduction to a symposium organised to honor André Calas, calls forth his personality, recalls the major events in his carreer and summarizes the evolution of his research.
